At about 7am, the banks of the River Feale burst, sending water into areas around the town, including Fr Casey's GAA Club and the nearby Abbeyfeale Mart.

The banks of the River Allaghan also burst, sending water into areas including Abbeyfeale United FC.

While the town itself appears to have escaped the worst of the floods, surroundings lower lying land and flood plains are almost all submerged in water.
