Eóin Tennyson MLA has been elected as the Alliance Party’s new deputy leader.
The Upper Bann MLA was selected at a special meeting of 190 party members in Belfast on Tuesday evening, replacing former deputy leader Stephen Farry who lost his Westminster seat in July.
Mr Tennyson (26) became the Assembly’s youngest MLA when he was elected in 2022. He served as a councillor on Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council since 2019.

Mr Tennyson said he was taking up the role at “a hugely exciting time” for the Alliance Party.
“I am incredibly thankful to party members for placing their trust in me,” he added.
“Working with Naomi Long as deputy leader is an important role which I will give my all and I can’t wait to get started.”
