Natasha Rocca Devine would think her life was ordinary and then go to her friends’ houses and see what ordinary really was. 'Like, I saw paparazzi at school, and I remember going to people’s houses and they would have a lot more structure. Ours wasn’t like that.'

Daughter of former Miss Ireland Michelle Rocca and footballer John Devine - and stepdaughter of Van Morrison - she says the first time her college friends really saw her family in the paper was due to a car accident she had aged 19, on a J1 visa in California.

'I came back to Ireland and I was kind of in shock. I had, like, 300 staples in my head and I lost all my hair and when I came back home, it all hit me what had happened... I was lying in bed a lot, wanted to be alone, was very depressed. I didn’t have the maturity to know what was going on. It was very hard.'

She says now that her personality became more extrovert after the crash. She might never have travelled as much, working in London and the US, and in all sorts of jobs, if the accident hadn’t happened. 'You look back and regret things, and for a long time I was very hard on myself. I had survivor’s guilt and I was very strict on myself. I’m more relaxed now'
