The Gaivota centre cares for teenagers who would otherwise be homeless

ALL, the Algarve Ladies Lunch group, has donated €1,250 to Gaivota children’s home in Albufeira earlier this week.

The donation took the form of 50 preloaded cards of €25 each, which can be used at any shop or outlet in the Algarve Shopping complex. These will be given to the children in Gaivota as Christmas presents, or incentives. The €25 card from Algarve Shopping Centre means that the children can buy anything from any of the shops in the complex, including going to the cinema.

Patricia Roberts and Libby North from ALL made the donation recently. Catarina of Gaivota received the gift of 50 cards on behalf of the centre.

The Gaivota centre cares for teenagers who would otherwise be homeless. They currently have 38 children that are being cared for. The centre is in great need of further help. To make a donation, contact the centre manager Raquel Nunes by email on gaivota@scmalbufeira.com

Pat and Libby have been running ALL, which arranges regular lunches and fundraising events for women in the central Algarve, for more than seven years. In that time, they have raised more than €10,000 for good causes.

Each year, the members of ALL vote to decide which good cause should benefit from their fundraising. This year, Gaivota was the clear favourite of the vote.
