A conscientious Dutch mechanic picked up what he thought were two discarded beer cans and threw them away — only to discover he had canned a modern work of art.

The LAM museum in Lisse rescued the work after a lift engineer, who had never worked there before, put it in the rubbish bin after he saw the dented and empty “beer cans” apparently left on top of the museum’s glass lift shaft
