Information (1/1)
The most impressive comet of the year is expected to appear again in the skies over the coming days as it makes its closest approach since Neanderthals walked the Earth.

Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, also known as C/2023 A3, has been labelled the “comet of the century” in some quarters.

Dr Robert Massey of the Royal Astronomical Society said it might not quite live up to that billing but could be visible over the weekend, clouds permitting.

It will make its closest approach to Earth on Saturday, October 12, at a distance of about 44 million miles
