Possibly a more problematic age — this is the kind of lifestyle in 2024 that prompts online cries of “check your privilege” — but because it’s 1986 neither the word “problematic” nor the phrase “check your privilege” yet exists. And there is no internet. We have returned to an age where privilege was seen, simply, as brilliant."
