Are you sure about that, Alexa Amazon’s voice assistant has been spreading fake news, it has emerged.
Full Fact, a fact checking group, discovered that Alexa was spouting misinformation and even citing the organisation as a source. There are more than 100m devices worldwide that are Alexa-enabled.
Among the lies it came up with was a claim that the northern lights were generated by a research facility in Alaska, that Sir Keir Starmer had announced a boycott of diplomatic relations with Israel and that the NHS has 1 million more people on its waiting lists than is the case
